As nations increasingly recognize the strategic importance of marine resources, the Blue Economy has emerged as a sustainable framework. This has balanced the economic growth with responsible utilization of ocean ecosystems through maritime transport, renewable energy, fisheries, aquaculture and coastal resource management.

Today, advancements in space technology, satellite observations, geospatial intelligence, artificial intelligence, and data analytics are transforming the way oceans are observed, managed, and protected. These technologies provide continuous and reliable information that supports ecosystem monitoring, maritime safety, climate resilience, resource planning, and evidence-based policymaking.
